FUSE Recap

Last Friday night, the Southport Parish hosted the largest Deanery event this year with over 70 young people in attendance at Aquinas College. The night began with games and then into an amazing home cooked dinner by the Southport Youth parents and then into a talk by Sister Mel and Cosme from Vocations Brisbane talking about their journey to follow God’s voice. The night centred around the scripture from Matthew 17:20 “If you only have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can move mountains”. Youth were challenged and inspired to plant their own seeds of faith in a prayer experience symbolising their commitment as well as invited for prayer teams and worship lead by our deanery band. It was wonderful to see the youth from our earlier retreat in the year reunite and the many Brisbane supporters in attendance were in awe of the welcoming and prayerful environment. This was a huge achievement by the parish and all involved in making the night happen. We look forward to sharing more success stories of our growth in youth ministry in Southport and the Gold Coast during what is left of our Year of Youth and beyond.
