WEDDINGS
The Sacrament of Marriage at Southport Catholic Parish. In the Catholic tradition, Marriage is a sacred and lifelong covenant—a Sacrament that reflects God’s unwavering love and commitment to humanity. When couples choose to marry in the Church, they become living witnesses to this divine love, inspiring all who gather to celebrate with them.
At Southport Catholic Parish, we rejoice in your decision to enter into this holy union. To ensure your wedding day is both meaningful and well-prepared, we kindly ask that couples provide at least six months’ notice of their intention to marry. This allows time for:
-
- Completion of all required documentation
-
- Spiritual and pastoral preparation
-
- Coordination of your preferred date, time, and priest
-
- Participation in our approved Marriage Preparation Program
Once your email has been recieved we will begin the process and forward all relevant information.
-
An information sheet outlining the steps for marriage within the Catholic Church
-
A booking form
-
Details about approved pre-marriage preparation courses
Following this, a priest will be in touch to arrange a meeting and begin the formal preparation process.
The Southport Catholic Parish offers a recognised Marriage Preparation Program for couples wishing to celebrate their wedding in one of our churches: Guardian Angels, Mary Immaculate, or St Joseph the Worker.
We look forward to supporting you as you prepare for this sacred and joyful occasion.
